INJURIES

Traumatic Brain Injury

A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is damage to the brain caused by an external physical force that leaves a person with significant problems in physical functioning, social skills and/or the ability to think. There are physical symptoms of TBI that one wouldn’t associate with this kind of injury. The ability to pay attention, bladder and bowel problems, are part of the physical set backs associated with traumatic brain injury. Anyone is at risk of a brain injury; however, males 15-24 are the most at risk for TBI, as are victims of child abuse and the elderly.

There are also behavioral symptoms as well. These include:

  • Restlessness
  • Impulsive behavior
  • Anxiety
  • Lack of desire
  • Difficulty controlling emotions
  • Decreased ability to cope with stress
  • Depression
  • Frustration
  • Aggression and irritability

Our goal is to expand the delivery system to ensure that individuals with TBI and their families have access to appropriate support, and services within the Maryland, Washington DC and New York areas. Whenever you’re hiring an attorney, it’s best to know their track record, and how many cases they have tried, and won, as opposed to their losses. In a TBI case, the law varies in some states, so you need an attorney that specializes in this kind of lawsuit to ensure full compensation.
