Washington has received $550,000 in Federal TBI Planning and Implementation Grants. The State has provided $178,361 in matching support.

Objectives of the grant program are:
1. Create a strong statewide Information and
Resource system that will increase appropriate
referral and services to individuals with TBI.
2. Increase capacity for appropriately identifying
and serving individuals with TBI within the
State and other systems.
3. Increase services for individuals with TBI by
collaborating in the development of programs
to address unmet housing and service needs.
4. Strengthen the TBI Statewide Advisory Board
by recruiting new members and developing a
retention strategy.
Progress is reported as:
1. Completed a Needs and Resources
Assessment and developed a TBI State
Action Plan.
2. Incorporated existing Federal TBI Program
products and others into a TBI Tool Kit using a
consumer-directed process.
3. Developed a framework to enhance public
and professional education through product
development and dissemination.
4. Developed an interactive TBI education series
targeting the needs of rural and urban
communities in collaboration with the UW TBI
Model Systems and Idaho TBI State Grants.
Washington State continues to further strengthen its various interagency collaborations and its TBI Statewide Advisory Board to achieve the priorities as identified in the TBI State Action Plan, including the development of support for a housing option specifically for those with TBI.
