The Aging and Long-Term Services Department, located at Toney Anaya Building, 2550 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505, is the lead agency for the New Mexico Federal TBI Program.
New Mexico has received $600,000 in a Federal TBI Implementation Grant. New Mexico has provided approximately $314,700 in matching support.

New Mexico does not currently have a Federal
TBI Program State Grant, but reports the following progress:
1. Required all TBI Program providers to provide
customer satisfaction surveys.
2. Developed an education/resource manual in
English and Spanish, Navajo audio, CD, and
Web site formats.
3. Increased the number of telephone calls to the
information and referral line by disseminating
a TBI wallet information card.
4. Conducted advocacy training sessions for 50.
5. Achieved TBI-favorable policy changes
improving TBI awareness.
6. The Legislature appropriated $100,000 yearly
for continuation of awareness and education
projects, including billboards, PSAs, a TV
special, posters, and bumper stickers.
New Mexico is working with several contractors to conduct program evaluations of existing State TBI service and support systems. The results of these evaluations will help to guide future systems change activities. A refresher advocacy training course will be given to the 50 advocacy graduates in preparation for passage of the TBI Medicaid Waiver in the 2005 legislative session.
