Federal TBI Program for Wyoming

The lead agency for the Wyoming Federal TBI Program is the Department of Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities, Acquired Brain Injury Waiver Services Program, 6101 Yellowstone Road, Room 186E Cheyenne, WY 82002.

Wyoming has received $75,000 in Federal TBI Planning grants. The State has matched the Federal grants with approximately $39,988.

The grant objectives for Wyoming are:

1. Establish an active TBI Statewide Advisory Board that represents all stakeholders in the TBI services system, and is reflective and responsive to the various communities it serves.
2. Have a single Lead Agency for the State that acts as the coordinating agency for statewide planning and the development of a comprehensive TBI services system.
3. Conduct a comprehensive Needs and Resources assessment of the needs of individuals with TBI; identify the gaps in service provision, and the resources available to meet the identified needs with a strategy for coordinating a statewide tracking and surveillance system.
4. Develop a sustainable TBI State Action Plan that addresses all components of a comprehensive system, including prevention, acute care/treatment, long-term services, community re-entry, and advocacy.
