Levaquin

Levaquin, known generically as levofloxacin, is a quinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in the lungs, the sinuses, on skin and in the urinary tract. It is not recommended for use in children.

Manufactured by the pharmaceutical company, Ortho-McNeil, Levaquin first gained FDA approval in 1996.

This drug has been known to cause tendon ruptures in some patients. In others, Levaquin has shown to cause a disorder known as peripheral neuropathy.

Additional Levaquin side effects include: abdominal or stomach pain, headache, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, change in sense of taste, severe joint and muscle pain, constipation, insomnia and anxiety.
